The Counseling Center helps people who have finished resident rehab programs and have progressed to a point where they may stay on their own but seek ongoing support for sobriety and mental health. For you to refer a person to our center, they must be:
- A minimum of 14 years old
- Done detoxing from alcohol and/or drugs
- Medically stable
- In need of professional support for staying sober or dealing with mental health illness
- Devoted to engage in mental health sessions with counselors to treat addiction and co-occurring disorders
Of course! We keep all patient communications and documentation confidential. We only talk about their care with them, you as their medical provider, and their appointed family members.
If you contact The Counseling Center, someone will respond immediately, irregardless of the day or time. We’ll discuss if our support fits the person’s needs at this time or if they require some other kind of therapy for their present point of substance use or mental health recovery.
If we determine The Counseling Center At Yorktown Heights is the ideal place for them, we’ll schedule a psychological evaluation and discuss insurance and potential payment plans. Once this is complete, we’ll make a recommendation on the best form of treatment for them and get them started in one of our outpatient programs.
